Every year, Champa Ban Coaches are trained twice a year in key topics like coaching, match officiating, first aid and safeguarding in sport to be able to deliver fun, safe, impactful seasons for youth players.
The Champa Ban powered by Pass It Back Coach Training with over 100 new and the returning coaches who are spending one week learning new rugby and life skills coaching techniques in preparation for the new season from Vientiane Capital, Vientiane Province and Xieng Khouang.
The new season of Champa Ban Rugby will start this month supporting 11-16 year old players across 3 provinces to develop their rugby and leadership skills and show how rugby can be part of recovery as we emerge from COVID-19. #Rugby4All

The LRF is very excited to welcome Ilona Maher to visit later this week. This year the USA Rugby Eagle was named to the HSBC Sevens Series Dream Team! Ilona will be visiting LRF Champa Ban, Club and National Team activities across the country in the coming weeks on her first trip to Laos !

This week, LRF staff have been supporting our partners at ChildFund to deliver rugby training to teachers from Xieng Khouang and Vientiane in schools near where our Coaches and Champa Ban teams play. It's great to see so many teachers getting into rugby. Thanks to all of the teachers and community members who joined!
Champa Ban Coaches deliver ChildFund Pass It Back rugby and life skills sessions to young people to help them reconnect with friends and share stories and ideas as they overcome the impacts of COVID-19 in their communities.
We’re excited to announce that Lao Rugby will be part of the YSEALI Laos Seeds for the Future cohort for 2019! Coaches Aeng Khang and Pern are working with their Vietnamese counterparts to coordinate a weekend of rugby and life skills for players from both countries, combined with the Champa Ban National Finals for Laos. We’re excited to hear about different strategies for planning between the two nations building on the skills they have learned as ChildFund Pass It Back Coaches. Thank you to Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative for making this collaboration possible!
The Lao Rugby Federation will host a booth at the annual UK in Laos Queen's Birthday Party event, where guests will be able to learn about the growth of rugby in Laos and opportunities to learn about gender equity through sport thanks to ChildFund Pass It Back!
Every year, coach group leaders and other LRF staff get together to brainstorm recruitment and events to help grow the sport of rugby in Laos. Training our staff is key to making sure that we can continue to serve more and more players and coaches each year!
In Xieng Khouang, local Coach Group Leaders and club administrators will have a chance to get together and discuss challenges and plans for the upcoming year.
