Results: DHL Vientiane 10s competition on 30-31 January

On January 30-31, 2021, over 300 players from 21 teams gathered in Vientiane to participate in the DHL Vientiane 10s. This year’s competition was its 14th iteration in Laos and the 3rd year of LRF’s collaboration with our counterparts in Vietnam to host the DHL Vientiane – Hanoi 10s Series. The Vientiane competition featured teams at the senior and U17 levels, each divided into men’s and women’s divisions. In addition to 14 Lao teams returning from the 2020 competition, the LRF was proud to welcome seven new teams this year from three provinces in Laos, demonstrating the rapid growth of domestic rugby across the country.

The Vientiane Lions Women continued their winning streak in the competition by sweeping the Cup Final for the fifth year in a row, while the Lao Barbarians lifted the Senior Men’s Cup trophy for their first time. The Vientiane Tigers dominated a very competitive youth division, winning Cup Finals for both the Men’s and Women’s U17 divisions. Full results of the competition can be found below.
