Terms of Reference for Designer Consultant
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
The Lao Rugby Federation (LRF) is the governing body for all rugby activities within the Lao PDR. Registered with the Elite Sports Department under the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, the LRF is also a full member of Asia Rugby and World Rugby.
The LRF works to realise the vision of a Lao PDR in which all people have the opportunity to participate in the sport of rugby. LRF activities are focused on developing the sport through school and community development initiatives, supporting domestic and elite teams to play and compete, and developing a solid organisational structure that provides transparent and accountable financial and administrative support to the sport. This can be simplified as: Rugby for all in Laos.
The LRF works in three provinces in Laos, Vientiane Capital, Vientiane Province and Xieng Khouang (northern, rural Laos). The LRF’s work is spread amongst four areas: Champa Ban youth rugby, domestic club rugby, national teams and coach, referee and administrative capacity building.
PROGRAM CONTEXT
As part of Champa Ban youth rugby, the LRF worked with partners from 2012-2015 to develop and pilot the ChildFund Pass It Back rugby and life skills curriculum that delivers play-based tag rugby training to 11-16 year old boys and girls 1-2 times per week. As part of the curriculum, rugby games and activities are combined with on the field life skills games and discussions to build young player’s leadership and life skills particularly in the areas of gender, financial literacy, sexual reproductive health, and preventing violence.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Consultant will be responsible for designing two A4-sized posters on STIs and contraceptive methods for ChildFund Pass It Back Coaches. Lao language resources on STIs and contraceptive methods will be made available prior to the beginning of the service.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Consultant will support the LRF by providing design services to ensure that:
Coach Trainers are able to use the posters during training blocks to encourage debate and discussion around STIs and contraceptive methods;
Coaches are able to identify different types of STIs and contraceptive methods in the posters presented;
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Consultant will report to the LRF Project Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications in a relevant field;
At least 2 years of experience in design with an international organization is required;
WORKING CONDITIONS & OTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is remote;
Work duration will last until March 2022;
Commitment and adherence to the LRF's policies and procedures is required;
Adherence to written confidentiality policy is required.
